  5. Judged one of the most reliable, intelligent boards in the field, the ACL board
  6. from Tekdata offers many product options. And many options can be easily added
  7. later for system migration. Start out with a four-port version and upgrade to
  8. eight ports when your needs dictate expansion. By using Tekdata's upgrade kit,
  9. you can have an expanded system up and running in less than an hour. To add
  10. more users simply insert multiple ACL boards. For many applications, four ACL
  11. boards - each powered by an 8 MHz 8088 microprocessor - can easily support up
  12. to 32 users. Fully shielded cable and panels are offered in three options:
  13. RS232, RS422 and RS485. The ACL inserts into an 8-bit or 16-bit expansion slot
  14. of an IBM PC, XT, AT and 286, 386 and 486 AT-class compatibles. So equipped, a
  15. microcomputer can serve as a powerful host for multiple serial devices and
  16. terminals. Besides field-proven reliability, the intelligent ACL communications
  17. board provides: System expansion with minimum downtime - upgrade ports/memory
  18. configurations in the field; dual port memory can be located anywhere in the
  19. host's 16MB address space for greater memory address flexibility; multiple
  20. board setups (up to four) can share same dual port memory space; on-board
  21. scratch RAM supports custom programs, which can be developed on a PC using
  22. standard development tools.
